Teaching Quality – I get the feeling that Vienne prepares for her classes with me at least as much as I do. She often translates articles relevant to State Street from English into Chinese. And then records them as audio. And places them in my personalized web portal. Don’t expect her to waste your valuable time with low-value repetitions of “Hi, how was the weekend? Great weather!” Vienne’s arsenal of teaching methods reflects her passion for the art of teaching and the science of finance; a “normal” class may include being video-taped for a mock financial press interview on asset allocation, a sales negotiation role-play, a discussion of custody contract terms, M&A listening quizzes, reading financial press releases out loud, Chinese leaders flash card drills, test preparation... the list goes on. The two hours I spend with Vienne every 7-9am on Monday mornings are invigorating. I often dare not waste even a few minutes to use the restroom!
